The Electrical Estimator is a major resource to the sign and lighting business operations. They calculate the project costs and profits, being accurate in their estimates. They cover all aspects of the electrical construction, from material costs, staff time, construction, to driving time.
Primary responsibilities include:
-Provide accurate project/job estimates covering all aspects of electrical construction estimating
-Read plans, specifications, perform take off
-Solicit bid prices from vendors for required materials
-Organize and prepare scope of work description and price proposal on bid
-Look for possible value engineering, cost savings or project enhancements as appropriate for each proposal
-Provide energy savings estimates
Position Qualifications and Skills:
-Previous experience as an electrical estimator
-Thorough knowledge of the electrical field
-Familiarity with electrical materials and construction methods, including requirements for different construction types (commercial and industrial)
-Thorough knowledge of NEC Code is essential
-Strong computer skills, which include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
-Attention to detail
-Good people skills
-Multi-task and meet deadlines
